UPDATE 9/11/15: Following an emotional performance of John Lennon’s Imagine last Tuesday, Sharon Irving sadly did not advance to the Finals on America’s Got Talent. But there’s more to come from her! She leaked her upcoming project on Twitter this week.
UPDATE 8/22/15: Sharon Irving’s performance on “America’s Got Talent” received enough votes to move on to the semi-final rounds of NBC’s variety competition. Summit fans will recognize her song from the August 18 show, Glory, as the same one she recently sang with composer Common in Session 7 of the 2015 conference. Her response: “Thank you so much. I do this to inspire people, its more than a hobby”. You can watch her AGT performance here. We love Sharon and are rooting for her next performance!

It is a thrilling moment when a judge on America’s Got Talent hits the “Golden Buzzer” sending a contestant straight to the live shows at Radio City Music Hall. This season, one contestant who received that moment was Sharon Irving, whose performance caused Mel B to use her only golden buzzer selection on June 9, 2015.
As a Summit fan, if you thought Sharon looked familiar, you would be right! Sharon has been on the worship staff at Willow Creek Community Church for many years and has been a frequent singer on the Summit worship team. This year she sang alongside of Common during the epic Glory moment in Session 7.
So watch for her tonight at 8/7c as America’s Got Talent goes live at Radio City Music Hall. And if you think she’s awesome (as we do!) – Vote!
